DIAKOSMOS DANCE ACADEMY CHOREOGRAPHY AWARD

The Choreography competition is run by Diakosmos Dance Academy and is part of our mid-year Winter Concert.  The award will be given to one young choreographer at the end of the concert.

Diakosmos Dance Academy students have always been encouraged to choreograph and perform their own work, it is an important part of our school’s culture.  This tradition, has been inspired by the philosophy surrounding the contemporary movement, to be expressive and find a unique voice through dance.

The introduction of the Diakosmos Dance Academy Choreography Award provides our students with a framework in which to make dances. It formalises our support of the creative process by offering an environment that allows our male and female students to be imaginative and compose dances that reflect their personal dance journey.
