Diakosmos Dance Academy is a fully equipped Dance Studio in Thornbury, Melbourne. We are conveniently located at St James Parish Centre:

Diakosmos Dance Academy was established in 2001, working out of 3 separate halls. Finding our dance home at St James was an important moment for our school. Steeped in tradition, nostalgia and a community feeling, we are proud of our studio space that holds immense character and history.

Built in 1917, the very space that our students dance in was the original St James Parish Church, an important piece of history in Thornbury. Many of our parents have fond memories attending dance, calisthenics and gymnastics classes at St James when they were younger. We can only imagine how many wonderful stories of friendship our space carries, as our Kindred Spirits continue to create memories every day.

Our academy offers a friendly and supervised waiting area for your children. We have two studios that are fully equipped with appropriate equipment for all dance styles. The studio is wheelchair accessible with two restrooms; one of which is an ambulant restroom.

We are located in a residential area, with great access to free parking. With excellent public transport access, the studio is a 5 minute walk from the Victoria Road bus and only a 20 minute walk from Thornbury Train Station and High Street Trams.

Diakosmos Dance Academy is located within walking distance of the eclectic High Street, Thornbury, with many local cafes and shops, as well as Northlands Shopping Centre and Northcote Plaza only a short drive away.

Our all-embracing dance program invites students from the local area and outer suburbs. We have welcomed students from Preston, Brunswick, Ivanhoe, Clifton Hill, Fitzroy, Northcote, Mill Park, Mernda,  Darebin and Thornbury and other Western suburbs. 

We now have an Online program that reaches Kindred Spirits across Melbourne.
